I should be writing. With Covid rearing its ugly head, the Delta variant raging through the country, active cases increasing in our area. And smoke from British Columbia, our neighbor,   is causing health warnings in our area due to the smoke. B.C. is setting a record for the number of forest fires this year and the acreage burned. Firefighters from Mexico and Australia are flying in to help with the firefighting.

With all this, even though our city has opened up, it makes more sense to stay inside. The smoke interferes with any gardening and even walking the dog. Smokey air isn’t for dogs either. You can see how bad the smoke is in the picture. So, it’s perfect for writing. Right? Except it isn’t. I’m not sure why but I can’t concentrate on writing one novel or editing another one.  Sigh… Hope others are doing better than I am during this challenging summer.

But I am reading. So that’s a good thing. Right now, I’m reading a new release by Bob Rich Ph. D.  Lifting the Gloom Antidepressant Writings. It’s well-written and keeps you turning pages. It could be helpful if you are depressed or know someone who is depressed. I’m about halfway through and I’ll be writing a review for Amazon and others when I finish reading it.
